Cross Timbers

History: Lake Draper is the home of the CrossTimbers Riding Area, a 960+ acre (and growing) complex for dirt bikes and ATVs. Draper lake has been a hub for dirt bike enthusiasts for generations.  With the Oklahoma City initiative to turn the northern portion of the lake into a more profitable area, the riding area that many of us in the OKC area grew up on, was closed on May 1, 2005. The Okie Dirt Riders and Crosstimbers Riders Association have worked together with the city in order to acquire a new riding area at West Elm Creek.  The new riding area is a premiere riding area for ORV enthusiasts not just for its trails, but also the careful planning of the loading/unloading areas and other facilities provided for the riders.  CrossTimbers is being developed in stages but at the current capacity, it has a mini track for the little guys and people learning to ride, a motocross area that is coming to life, and a series of trails set up for everyone from the beginner to the most advanced rider. The Cross Timbers riding area is now managed and maintained by the CRA (Crosstimbers Riding Assc.) which consists of a 9 member board.

Public Riding: The Crosstimbers riding area is open for use daily UNLESS there has been inclement weather that would affect the trails, fire in the area, a special event taking place, or maintenance being done at the facility.

Hotline: Call 405-945-1938 before hauling to be sure that the trails are open.
